David Soames
Creative Director/Producer
David brings his 20 years of artistic experience as an actor, co-producer and writer to the role of Creative Director/Producer in Braveheart Films where he has been writing and developing a slate of films.
David has created the musical entitled THE TIME LORD, which eventually became the musical TIME, for which he wrote the book and most of the lyrics. TIME was produced by Dave Clark (of the Dave Clark 5) and starred Sir Cliff Richard in the leading role with Lord Laurence Olivier. It was seen by over a million people and grossed over £15 million during its two-year run at the Dominion in London.
Cliff Richard, Freddie Mercury, Dionne Warwick, Jimmy Helms, and Murray Head are among the artists who have recorded David’s songs. Cliff Richard’s 2003 World Tour DVD featured Born To Rock and Roll, with lyrics written by David.
In September 2006, to commemorate what would have been Mercury’s 60th birthday, EMI released a CD and DVD titled Lover of Life…Singer of Songs, with IN MY DEFENCE as the opening song with lyrics written by David.
IN MY DEFENCE was the closing song of the first act of TIME the musical which garnered reviews such as:

David has written several theatre plays, and, together with his American writing partners, David Pomeranz and Steven David Horwich, they have written two musicals TROUBLE IN PARADISE and A TALE OF TWO CITIES, a new musical based on Charles Dickens’ masterpiece, which had its London premiere at the Gatehouse Theatre Highgate on the 27th of September 2008. It was produced and directed by Paul Nicholas (producer of the West End and Broadway musical Grease and Saturday Night Fever) to terrific reviews.

David is very excited to have Chris de Burgh on board for the THROUGH THESE EYES film project, for which David has written the screenplay and Chris has written the soundtack. Chris’ company Ferryman Productions will co-produce THROUGH THESE EYES with Braveheart Films.
David’s two latest Musical projects include BERLIN, co-written with Ivor Novello Award winner Alan Hawkshaw and BLOCKBUSTER, for which David has written the book. BLOCKBUSTER features the songs of the legendary 70’s and 80’s songwriting partnership of Nicky Chinn and Mike Chapman, whose songs were recorded by Smokie, Sweet, Suzi Quatro, Mud, Tina Turner and others. A UK tour of BLOCKBUSTER is currently in preparation for 2012, followed by a West End opening. This Musical will be co-produced by David Howells and David Soames for Darah Productions with Paul Nicholas (Producer of GREASE). Paul Nicholas will also direct the Musical BLOCKBUSTER.
