As a songwriter over 350 artists have recorded Tony’s songs, including Elton John, Cliff Richard, Olivia Newton John, Lulu, Andy Williams, Ray Stevens, The Hollies, The Shadows, Sonny & Cher, The Miracles, The Osmonds, The Fortunes, Al Martino, Glen Campbell, Ann Murray and Sacha Distel. Tony has written or co-written over 1,400 songs, of which 32 singles have charted world wide.
His Eurovision Song Contest winner SAVE YOUR KISSES FOR ME was number one in 27 countries, and sold 5 million singles. His number ones include ANGELO, FIGARO and UNITED WE STAND.
He has also written songs for many movies including RYANS DAUGHTER song Rosy’s Theme by Tony Hiller Orchestra, RUSSIAN ROULETTE song Russian Roulette by Cleo Laine, FAR PAVILIONS song World Without Your Love by Barbara Dickson and BILLY ELLIOT song Here We Go by Everton FC.
Tony’s song Midnight Tango by The Arthur Murray Orchestra featured in the Oscar winning short film RAY’S MALE HETEROSEXUAL DANCE HALL, and Tony’s song Save Your Kisses For Me appeared on the soundtrack to the feature film LOVERBOY starring Kevin Bacon and Sandra Bullock.
Among the many awards Tony has received are 6 Ivor Novello Statutes, 6 ASCAP Shields, an Ivor Novello Nomination International Hit Of The Year and the BASCA Gold Badge of Merit. He is the recipient of over 40 Silver, Gold and Platinum Discs and he is also a Director of The Society of Distinguished Songwriters.
